This is not a popular trek; best suitable time are in April, September and October as this region encounters more rain and snow in winter.  A 29 km drive from Thimphu to junction of paved road, you will drive 1.5 km through unpaved road to BHU at Khoma (2850 Mtrs.).

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival Paro & s/s

We’ll meet at 4 p.m. at our hotel in Luzern (Lucerne) for a “Welcome to Switzerland” meeting. Then we’ll take a meandering evening walk through Switzerland’s most charming lakeside town, and get acquainted with one another over dinner together. Sleep in Luzern (2 nights). No bus. Walking: light.

Day 2Paro s/s & transfer to Thimphu

Day 3Full day Thimphu s/s

Day 4DRIVE TO KHOMA – TREK TO START – GEYNIKHA, Alt.2950 Mtrs.

Day 5GEYNIKHA – GUR, Alt. 3350 Mtrs. Distance 12 Kms, time 5 Hrs.

Day 06GUR – LABATAMBA Alt. 4240 Mtrs. Distance 12 Kms, time 5 Hrs.

Daay 07LABATAMBA – PANKA, Alt. 4500, (pass 4700 Mtrs.) Distance 8 kms. time 4 Hrs.

Day 08PANKA – TALAKHA, Alt. 4000 Mtrs. Distance 8 kms, 4 Hrs.

Day 09TALAKHA – SIMTOKHA; trek ends at Simtokha, Distance 3 kms, time 3 Hrs.

Day 10Transfer to Punakha & s/s

Day 12Punakha s/s & transfer to Paro.
